Dr. Lyjane Rodrigues moved to the Mornington Peninsula from the Great Ocean Road in Jan 2017. Since then she worked in various locations in the Peninsula like McCrae, Mornington and Somerville which provided her with the variety and clinical expertise she was looking for. Having a love for nature and a coastal lifestyle, she decided to make the Peninsula her new home.

Dr. Lyjane Rodrigues has experience in all aspects of General Medicine with a special interest in Women’s & Children’s Health. Dr. Lyjane Rodrigues holds a Diploma of Child Health from the University of Sydney, Australia. She is also a qualified inserter of Implanon. Dr. Rodrigues is passionate about Skin Cancer detection and has attained a Certificate in Dermoscopy which qualifies her to conduct Skin Cancer Checks . She is currently pursuing her degree in Skin Cancer Medicine.

Dr. Lyjane Rodrigues enjoys travel, mastering new languages, exploring new cultures, hiking and enjoying a seaside lifestyle.

MEDICAL EDUCATION

Dr. Lyjane Rodrigues completed a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) before moving to Adelaide, South Australia where she underwent her post graduate medical training for 4 years. Dr. Rodrigues moved to Victoria for further GP training and completed her fellowship on the beautiful coastal town of Warrnambool on the Great Ocean Road.

    Children’s Health – We provide newborn checks involving a full examination including monitoring of baby’s weight. We manage common newborn issues such as feeding problems, breastfeeding complications, reflux and colic.

Since my move to the Peninsula, I have worked in various clinics in McCrae, Mornington and Somerville which has helped me tremendously in understanding the demographic and culture in South East Victoria. In my posts as a GP, I dealt with a mixed demographic of patients, offering paediatric care and postnatal/well baby checks, immunisations,
contraceptive advice and antenatal care, Implanon insertion and removals, menopause support and management, mental health support, Skin checks and surgical management of basic skin cancers, Nursing home, Age care and geriatric out of hours visits.

GP, Warnambool, Great Ocean RoadGENERAL PRACTITIONER

Worked at Cambourne Clinic, initially as a Registrar from Feb 2013-June 2015. Then as a vocationally registered GP from July 15- Nov 2016. I saw a broad range of patients focusing mainly on Womens Health which included adolescent health, reproductive care, menopause and mental health consults. I also managed my own quota of local nursing home patients. My duties included after hours on call work, patient admission and management at the local St John of God Private Hospital, Implanon insertion and minor skin procedures. I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in Skin cancer medicine at Australian Skin Face and Body Clinic where i worked part-time.The team included renowned Plastic and Hand Surgeons, Skin therapists and Skin cancer doctors.I have also successfully completed Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course.

My multiple posts included work at Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit, Psychiatry Post at Margaret Tobin Centre, Geriatric Evaluation and Management at The Repatriation General Hospital in Adelaide and also gained experience at the Eating Disorders Unit. I also worked in the surgical and medical wards attending rounds, admissions, management and discharge of patients.
